Bali Myna Bird

A donation to the Birdworld Conservation Fund will be made as indicated in the boxes below. Please see further down for information about the charity.

I created this painting of a Bali Myna bird as part of a Wildlife and Climate Change Exhibition in June 2023 in Cookham. I was researching endangoured species and found out about this beautiful little bird native to Bali. Bali Mynas have a distinctive head crest that stands up in punk-rocker style when communicating! Unfortunately, due to illegal hunting for the international cage bird trade and shrinkage in their habitat there is thought to be less than a hundred Bali Myna birds in the wild. However, conservation projects in Bali are trying to recover this number.

The photo reference for this painting was from Birdworld in Farnham, Surrey. I am extremely pleased to offer a donation from any sales to their Conservation Fund.

Limited Edition Prints

This image has a limited edition run of no more than 50 prints and will be personally signed and numbered. A certificate of authenticity will also be supplied.

My standard process of signing is to sign on the reverse of the print with the print number and the image itself will contain the signature. A white margin of 0.3" will be around the print to allow for attaching to a mount. If you prefer a print to be signed and numbered on the front please contact me and we can discuss the options.

The print is supplied as print only and does not include a mount or frame.

*The maximum size available is 10" x 10". Smaller prints are available as part of the limited edition count. Please contact me if you have a particular size in mind for a quote.

The prints are Giclee fine art prints and printed on a high quality art paper called Hahnemuehle German Etching at a good quality weight of 310gsm. The paper has a light texture to it to bring out the original texture of an acrylic painting or imitate the texture of an original watercolour painting. The paper has archival qualities. Combined with a fade resistant archival ink, it should give a print life of around 80+ years.

As with any work of art placing the item in direct sunlight can cause fading and therefore this should be avoided. Additionally, it is recommended that any materials you use for mounting and framing should be acid‐free to avoid possible yellowing over time.
