Swan and Cygnets

I created this painting of a swan and cygnets as part of a Wildlife and Climate Change Exhibition in June 2023 in Cookham. During research I found out many interesting items. Swans mate for life….mostly! Separation can occur but is rare. The parents stay together to increase aiding their offspring through their complex and vulnerable growing season. Swans can swim underwater to search for food and escape danger. Swans have declined in the past due to lead poisoning from fishing weights. Since this ban in 1987 the numbers are recovering but there are still threats from man‐made items in the river system.

Limited Edition Prints

This image has a limited edition run of no more than 50 prints and will be personally signed and numbered. A certificate of authenticity will also be supplied.

My standard process of signing is to sign on the reverse of the print with the print number and the image itself will contain the signature. A white margin of 0.3" will be around the print to allow for attaching to a mount. If you prefer a print to be signed and numbered on the front please contact me and we can discuss the options.

The print is supplied as print only and does not include a mount or frame.

*The maximum size available is 13.8" x 11". Smaller prints are available as part of the limited edition count. Please contact me if you have a particular size in mind for a quote.

The prints are Giclee fine art prints and printed on a high quality art paper called Hahnemuehle German Etching at a good quality weight of 310gsm. The paper has a light texture to it to bring out the original texture of an acrylic painting or imitate the texture of an original watercolour painting. The paper has archival qualities. Combined with a fade resistant archival ink, it should give a print life of around 80+ years.

As with any work of art placing the item in direct sunlight can cause fading and therefore this should be avoided. Additionally, it is recommended that any materials you use for mounting and framing should be acid‐free to avoid possible yellowing over time.
